One Room Challenge {W8}: Sean's Office

My work here is DONE!  I cannot believe: A- we finished, B- that I love how it turned out annnnnnd C- Sean loves how it turned out!  To be honest, I really didn't know if I could make a room that both Sean and I loved.  #butIdid

Before I talk about the last few projects let's look back at the first 4 weeks!

Week 1: Mood Board

Week 2: Demo and Painting

Week 3: Floors!

Week 4: Board and Batten

Week 7:  DIY Map Wall

Alright, let's get to this week's projects!  Up first is this DIY Concrete Lamp.

I honestly can't believe how well this turned out y'all!  I started out with a $2.80 thrift store lamp, sprayed it with primer, and painted it with Ardex feather finish concrete.  It took 3 thin coats of concrete with light sanding between each coat! You can see more details in my insta highlights!

DIY Memo Board

This idea was all Sean!  We had been planning on making a fiberglass memo board but the desk I found on FB Marketplace came with a glass top.  We mounted the glass to the wall with 1x4s that had a ridge cut in them!

Floating Shelves Hat Display

Sean had saved a least one hat from every team he had played on since he was 12!

Making floating shelves was a project we had never tackled before.  The Blooming Nest has a tutorial in her highlights and we used the stain color Cordovan Brown by Behr.  This stain color is the prettiest cool brown I've ever used!  It's a game changer, y'all!

Lastly, I painted the inside of this lawyers cabinet that I got from my Grandad!

Let's finish this post with the best part... Before and afters!
