DIY Mugs

I know DIY mugs are all the rage right now, but I just couldn't resist.  You know something is popular when it takes going to 4 different craft stores before you find the supplies you need.  I was going to make these mugs for Tall Tan Man for Christmas, but I decided that was a selfish gift.  It would be like him buying me surround sound speakers he really wants {this has never happened thankfully}.  He doesn't really drink hot coffee which is weird, because he is the one from Colorado.  Also, I wanted to use a pretty font, which confirmed this was a gift for myself.

*Disclaimer* If you are are like me then you get inspired to do a project at 10 PM...you cannot do that with this project {unless you are in college and sleep deprivation doesn't affect you}.  You will need about 5ish hours for this project, no you are not working all that time.  To make mugs like this you will need:

Mug {Homegoods, Target, Dollar Store}
Transfer Paper {by the canvases}
Tape
Pencil
Printed Word
Acrylic Pen

1.  Tape printed paper and transfer paper onto you mug.  Make sure it is straight, and the transfer paper is turned the correct way {learned that the hard way}!

2.  Stencil your word onto the mug.

3.  Remove paper and trace over with acrylic pen.  Keep in mind the acrylic will wipe off if you mess up.

4.  Now go get a manicure, Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte, and a red box while your mugs dry for at least 4 hours.

5.  Place mugs in a non-pre-heated oven {weird, I know...}, and bake them at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.  When time is up open oven door, and allow mugs to cool slowly.

The great thing about this project is there are so many options, and it would make a great Christmas gift!  Here are the two images I used.  You will need to download it, and adjust the size before you print.

Have a great week!  Christmas countdown is almost 2 weeks!!!
