The Move {part one}

Hello!  Well, I have had a busy week!  Uhaul-ed my furniture up to Colorado, "unpacked", flew to OKC for a "baby shower", and hitched a ride back to Dallas.  I am going to share some pictures from the adventures with y'all.

As you can see by the picture the Uhaul was FULL!  I changed the size of the uhaul last minute because my mom someone thought it was going to be way too big. I learned the hard way that my Momma isn't always  right...

essential beverages...

We made it!!!

Tall Tan Man loves all my things.

Of course the day we moved in was 95 degrees...I thought Colorado didn't get that hot!!!  We were totally worn out after two days of moving.  We inhaled pizza...and cinna sticks...

:)

A moving trip is not complete until you make a trip to ikea!

p.s.  Aren't Sarah's pants awesome??

After Denver I headed to OKC to see my friends and spend time with the new momma, Stef.  We had originally planned to have a shower for her but her twin boys decided to come early.  If you think about it say a prayer for the precious Embree Family.  I know God is with them and taking care ALL FOUR of them!  This is my good friend Brit.  She is moving to Japan in the Fall...How can I say 'honey, I want a plane ticket to Japan?' and not freak out Tall Tan Man?

I love all these ladies!

I am back in Dallas for a few more days then back on the road to Denver!  I'm staying for real this time...eeeee!

Texas Top Ten

Howdy Ya'll!  After months of going back and forth, Tall Tan Man and I {finally} decided our new home will be in Denver, Colorado.  There were so many emotions that came with this decision.  The strongest emotion is that of excitement... I get to actually LIVE with my husband and do everyday things together.  What a strange concept? I am looking forward to Saturday brunches, church, watching football, having dinner together and doing his laundry.  Maybe not the last one but you get what I mean. There are so many things I will miss about Texas.  This has been my home my whole life.  Here are my top ten reasons why I will miss living in Texas and why I am want to a establish "Leslie Travel Fund."

1.  My Family...They are amazing, I will miss my bro, hanging out with my Momma and my Daddy's funny comments.

2.  My friends... Not all of these hot mommas live in Dallas, but most live close enough for me to see them often. I told Tall Tan Man he better start liking Vampire Diaries because I need someone to watch it with!  He will also need get more opinionated when I bring clothes home.  :)

3.  Oklahoma Football...The University of Oklahoma... Boomer... Sooner...  There is so much happiness Norman, OK has brought me. Yes, I know Norman is not in Texas but it is pretty darn close.  I will miss road trippin' with my bestie Sarah.

4.  My fabulously hilarious, smart, and amazing talented co workers.

5.  My amazing first teaching job. I could not of asked for a more perfect school for me to grow professionally while being surrounded by wonderful people!

6.  The weather.  A lot of people hate this part of Texas {including Tall Tan Man}.  I am not in complete denial...I know it get pretty gross in July and August...but you can layout in November.

7.  Mexican Food.  I know Colorado has Mexican food, but they do not have Tex-Mex.  Very different. I will miss Blue Goose Fajitas.

8.  The words ya'll, fixin', ma'am, and sir being used regularly.

9.  Alright I am out of things.

10.  Yep, no more ideas.

Hope you are having a great weekend!  I will be back when I can :)

Colorado here I come!!!

Update!

I am sorry for my absence this year, 2013 has been quiet the whirlwind.  I thought I would catch ya'll up with all the hecticness and excitement.

Three weeks ago I resigned from my job for the 2013-2014 school year.  I have been at the same school for four and half years and I am going to miss it dearly.  I can't say to much or I will start crying... not like ya'll can tell through screen...

I am moving to Denver, Colorado.  Yes, I am leaving the promiseland, I don't get why people think people from Texas are overly proud??  The move is scheduled for NEXT TUESDAY.  Holy Moly, I get to live with my husband.

Packing, packing, packing... I love packing.  You never really realize how much stuff you have until you have to fit it all in boxes.  Tall Tan Man thinks I should get rid of everything {except a lawn chair}.  I told him no.  In the most loving way possible, of course.  We already found an apartment in Lone Tree.  Oh...and I already FOUND A JOB working for Douglas County!

My wonderful husband searched high and low for the best apartment.  This is not an easy task when we wanted it to be in the right price rage, with space, and not in the hood.  I went to my cousins wedding last weekend.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Hope ya'll are having a great week!  Tommorrow is the last the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!  SCHOOL IS GOING TO BE OUT FOR THE SUMMER!  I love my job.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I'm tired...

Really tired...

I have three days left of school...

I leave Texas in a week...

I could use some more of these cookies right now.

Chocolate Chip Cookies are one dessert that for some reason are really easy to mess up.  Maybe I am just special, but I have the worst luck with them.  They turn out too thin, not enough chocolate chips, too crispy, or not enough dough... Thankfully I have finally found a great recipe!!!  Can is get an Amen?  These cookies have the perfect dough to chocolate chip ratio, and they stay fluffy!  Amen!

Tall Tan Man normally doesn't eat desserts, but I caught him twice sneaking a cookie.  That is just crazy!  I found this recipe on pinterest, and it won the New York Times best cookie recipe contest.  The mastermind behind the recipe is Jaques Torres, and you can find the recipe {here}.  The only things I changed were because I was at Target... and they don't carry highfalutin' flour.  Instead of pastry and bread flour, I used normal and cake flour.

I hope you enjoy the cookies as much as I did.  :) I will hopefully be back to blogging regularing once my life a calmed down...I miss it.

Three days! Let's do this thang!
