Chocolate Toffee

This might be one of my favorite chocolate recipes...might be...but I do love puppy chow though and smores and cookies and cupcakes...I just love chocolate.  I think this recipe is extra fabulous, because it is easy and does not take many ingredients.

The Goods
  • Club Crackers
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 pinches of baking soda
  • Bag of Chocolate Chips
*Optional* I added the red M&M's and marshmallows for my OU tailgate!

Preheat oven to 350, and spray your rimmed pan (sheet cake pan) with non-stick cooking spray.  Place crackers on the bottom of pan.

Bring butter and brown sugar to a boil in a small sauce pan.  When mixture begins to boil add your baking soda and stir.  Remove from heat, and pour sugary butter {yum} mixture over the crackers.  Make sure you cover completely.

Bake at 350 for 7 minutes.  Pour chocolate chips over the top immediately after taking out of the oven, and allow to sit for two minutes.

With a spatula spread chocolate chips all over the crackers.  After this I sprinkled my M&Ms and mallows.

OH goodness....This is making my mouth water.  Now place pan in your freezer for 30 minutes.  Make sure you do not over freeze, because it makes cutting very difficult.  After the 30 minutes take your pan out of the freezer, and cut your toffee.  There is not really a method to cutting toffee...I just start on one of the edges, and the toffee will crack on its own.

Tailgating might be one of my favorite things.  Food, family, friends, and football...what else could a girl want?  Speaking of family, Baby Parker so cute and getting huge!  Love this little man.

I hope next game isn't quiet so hot....
